James Wong

James is a PhD candidate at the University of Newcastle researching the ecology of reef fishes at a subtropical coral reef at Norfolk Island, including drivers of fish species assemblages, responses of fishes to coral bleaching and aspects of behavioural and trophic ecology in subtropical damselfishes. Originally from Singapore, James has always loved all things ecology and narrowed in on marine science and fishes with the start of his university degree. He holds a BSc majoring in Marine Science at UoN, where he also undertook honours where researching foodweb dynamics of seagrass associated fishes in Lake Macquarie.

 

Jim loves all things fish, corals, crustaceans, and marine ecology and feels coolest when he gets asked to help ID a marine animal.
